I'm back in Aspen, CO, for the 11th(!) summer in a row. 8 of those summers were spent as a student at the Aspen Music Festival and School (check out their website here) and the other 3- including this one- have consisted of a week here and there visiting friends, going to concerts, shopping, eating, and generally hanging out. I've been going to Paul Kantor's studio class, which is always a delight and a privilege. And I'm looking forward to the Festival Orchestra this Sunday, conducted by my good friend Josh Weilerstein. (Read more about Josh here.)
TOMORROW: Monday, July 9, 8pm, Bennett Gordon Hall, Brahms Quintet! Also on the program are works of Beethoven, Schubert, and Schumann. Hope you can join us!
Just saw an amazing performance by Midori- she played half of the solo Bach violin sonatas and partitas, with the other half to come Thursday night. Really inspiring. Started some wheels turning for me... another project, anyone?
Also please come if you can to Gary Hoffman's masterclass Thursday at 2pm at Bennet Gordan Hall in Ravinia- my trio is playing Schubert Bb!
Happy 4th of July-
Welcome to my blog!
